On July 24, 2019, Allergan plc announced a voluntary worldwide recall of BIOCELL® textured breast implants and tissue expanders. The FDA has indicated that these implants can cause a rare form of cancer called Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma in certain individuals. At this time, the FDA is not recommending that the implants be removed without the development of symptoms.
